She cultivated a close-knit network of friends and correspondents from various fields of knowledge and culture including James Boswell, William Hayley and Erasmus Darwin. She was also connected with prominent figures of the burgeoning Romantic Movement, such as Robert Southey and Walter Scott. Contains engraved frontispieces in the first 3 volumes and folding facsimile letter in volume 1.
Good Condition. 6 Volumes in tree calf. Bindings are firm and pages are lightly tanned and foxed. Small tear to boarder of facsimile letter. Boards have moderate edge-wear with some notable bumping to corners and peeling to edges. Lettering plates to spine are worn with some more peeling. Headband of volune one is slightly loose.
