An anthology of sentimental verse with 56 lovely vignettes from George Cruikshank. Includes: An Elegy on the Glory of Her Sex, Mrs. Mary Blaize by Oliver Goldsmith, The Fakenham Ghost by Robert Bloomfield, The History of John Gilpin by William Cowper and The Hermit by Oliver Goldsmith. 

Fair Condition. Black leather boards with gilt to front board. Spine and hinges have been tape repaired by previous owner. Rear hinge is stiff. Fron hinge is somewhat fragile. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed. Boards have moderate edge-wear with peeling to edges and corners.
