The Fascist Movement in Italian Life

Dott. Pietro Gorgolini; Benito Mussolini

1923

T. Fisher Unwin Ltd

First Edition

8vo

Description:

Very rare and early book on the rise of Mussolini and Fascism in Italy, with a frontispiece and preface by Benito Mussolini himself. It is a sympathetic account of the rise of the Fascist movement, published in the year after Mussolini’s March on Rome and aimed at English readers who knew little about the movement or about its leader’s regime. Interestingly the book shows how violence was always central to the Fascist movement. Previous owned by General Sir C.C. Monro, known for his evacuation of the Gallipoli Campaign in World War One and later became Governor of Gibraltar until his death; with his book plate to inside of front cover.

Condition:

Good Condition. Brown cloth with gilt titles to spine head. General Monro's book plate to inside front cover. Binding is firm. Front end paper is absent. Ex library stamping to inside front cover and title page. Boards have moderate wear with some fraying to spine ends and marking to boards. Mark to spine tail.
