The Poems of Robert Bloomfield

A collected edition of the works of Robert Bloomfield (1766–1823), the celebrated “peasant poet” and shoemaker whose verse achieved remarkable popularity in the early 19th century. His poetry — most notably The Farmer’s Boy — brought authentic depictions of rural life and the English countryside to a wide readership. Published posthumously by Longmans, this three-volume set gathers his major works, including Rural Tales and May Day with the Muses, along with notes and biographical material.

Very Good Condition. 3 volumes half bound in brown leather with marble paper covered boards. Binding is firm and pages are moderately tanned and foxed. Ex libris plate to pastedowns. Boards have moderate edge-wear with some bumping to corners and peeling to leather spine. Occasional scuffs to spine.
