Exceptionally rare, printed for friends this largely unknown collection of "peasant poetry" by Cumberland Ploughman, James Foster. In the preface he gives a brief sketch of his life, Orphan by the age of 12 and plough hand until he was 17, Foster had a brief education. He fell desperately in love with a neighbouring farmer's daughter and turned to poetry.
